Killed the Philistine Giant Saph

Sibbecai the Hushathite killed Saph (Sippai), who was among the descendants of the giants (the Rephaim), and the Philistines were humbled.

18Some time later there was another battle with the Philistines, at Gob. At that time Sibbecai the Hushathite struck down Saph, one of the descendants of the Rapha.
4Some time later war broke out with the Philistines at Gezer. It was then that Sibbecai the Hushathite struck down Sippai, one of the descendants of the Rephaim, and the Philistines were subdued.

Mentioned Among David's Mighty Men

Sibbecai the Hushathite was appointed as leader of the military division that served in the eighth month, with 24,000 men under his command.

Battle Against the Philistines at Gob

In one of the repeated battles between Israel and the Philistines at Gob (Gezer), Sibbecai showed his courage by defeating the giant and securing victory for the Israelites.

15Once again there was war between the Philistines and Israel. David went down with his servants, and they fought the Philistines; and David grew weary.
16Then Ishbi-Benob, one of the descendants of the Rapha, whose bronze spearhead weighed three hundred shekels and who was armed with a new sword, intended to kill David.
17But Abishai son of Zeruiah came to his aid, struck the Philistine down, and killed him. Then David's men swore to him, "Never again will you go out with us to battle, so that the lamp of Israel may not be extinguished."
