The Lord is my shepherd – Psalm 23
The most well-known of David's psalms describes God as the good shepherd who leads, protects, and provides for his people through life's valleys and into abundance.
Salmos 23,1-6
1A psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I lack nothing.
מִזְמ֥וֹר לְדָוִ֑ד יְהוָ֥ה רֹ֝עִ֗י לֹ֣א אֶחְסָֽר׃
2He lets me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters.
בִּנְא֣וֹת דֶּ֭שֶׁא יַרְבִּיצֵ֑נִי עַל־מֵ֖י מְנֻח֣וֹת יְנַהֲלֵֽנִי׃
3He restores my soul. He guides me along right paths for his name's sake.
נַפְשִׁ֥י יְשׁוֹבֵ֑ב יַֽנְחֵ֥נִי בְמַעְגְּלֵי־צֶ֝֗דֶק לְמַ֣עַן שְׁמֽוֹ׃
4Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,* I fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. [*Footnote: Or "the darkest valley"; the Hebrew word can mean deep darkness as well as the shadow of death.]
גַּ֤ם כִּֽי־אֵלֵ֨ךְ בְּגֵ֪יא צַלְמָ֡וֶת לֹא־אִ֘ירָ֤א רָ֗ע כִּי־אַתָּ֥ה עִמָּדִ֑י שִׁבְטְךָ֥ וּ֝מִשְׁעַנְתֶּ֗ךָ הֵ֣מָּה יְנַֽחֲמֻֽנִי׃
5You set a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
תַּעֲרֹ֬ךְ לְפָנַ֨י ׀ שֻׁלְחָ֗ן נֶ֥גֶד צֹרְרָ֑י דִּשַּׁ֖נְתָּ בַשֶּׁ֥מֶן רֹ֝אשִׁ֗י כּוֹסִ֥י רְוָיָֽה׃
6Surely goodness and mercy will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for length of days.* [*Footnote: Or "as long as I live."]
אַ֤ךְ ׀ ט֤וֹב וָחֶ֣סֶד יִ֭רְדְּפוּנִי כָּל־יְמֵ֣י חַיָּ֑י וְשַׁבְתִּ֥י בְּבֵית־יְ֝הוָ֗ה לְאֹ֣רֶךְ יָמִֽים׃
