Dishon (also spelled Dishon/Dishon) was one of the sons of Seir the Horite, who lived in the region of Edom. He is mentioned in the genealogies in Genesis and 1 Chronicles as one of the Horite clan leaders in the mountains of Seir. His descendants were among the original inhabitants of the land later taken over by Esau's descendants.
The Horites' Land Taken Over by Esau's Descendants
The Horites, including Disjon's tribe, originally lived in the mountains of Seir, but the land was later taken over by Esau's descendants (the Edomites).
12The Horites used to live in Seir, but the descendants of Esau dispossessed them, wiped them out, and settled in their place, just as Israel did in the land the LORD gave them as their possession.)
22just as he had done for the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir, when he destroyed the Horites before them, so that they dispossessed them and have lived in their place to this day.
