Malloti was a Levite from the family of Heman who was appointed to temple service as a singer and musician under King David. He was one of Heman's sons and was assigned the twenty-fourth lot for service in the temple. His role was connected with praise and worship in the sanctuary.

Mallothi received the nineteenth lot for his service rotation in the temple, along with his sons and brothers, twelve in total.

Organization of Temple Singing

David and the commanders set apart Heman's sons, including Mallothi, for service with prophetic singing accompanied by harps, lyres, and cymbals.

1David and the commanders of the army set apart for service the sons of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun, who were to prophesy with lyres, harps, and cymbals. This was the number of the men who did this work according to their service:

Service under Heman's Leadership

Malloti served under the guidance of his father Heman, who was the king's seer and was exalted by God with fourteen sons and three daughters.
