David's Royal Lineage

As part of David's descendants, Nogah represents the royal lineage established in Jerusalem.

1These were the sons of David born to him in Hebron: the firstborn, Amnon, by Ahinoam of Jezreel; the second, Daniel, by Abigail of Carmel;

David Establishes Himself in Jerusalem

After David conquered Jerusalem and made it his capital, he had several sons, including Nogah.

3In Jerusalem David took more wives, and he fathered more sons and daughters.

David's Family Grows in Jerusalem

Nogah's birth was part of the expansion of David's royal household in the new capital, Jerusalem, as a sign of God's blessing upon the king.

13After he came from Hebron, David took more concubines and wives in Jerusalem, and more sons and daughters were born to him.
