Zilpah (Leah's handmaid)
Jacob's concubine and mother of two of the tribes of Israel
Zilpah was the handmaid whom Laban gave to his daughter Leah as a gift. When Leah stopped bearing children, she gave Zilpah to Jacob as a concubine, and through her Jacob had two sons: Gad and Asher, who became the ancestors of two of the twelve tribes of Israel.
