Settlement in Jerusalem after Exile

Utai was among the first from the tribe of Judah to settle in Jerusalem after returning from the Babylonian exile.

1So all Israel was registered by genealogy, and these are recorded in the Book of the Kings of Israel. And Judah was carried away into exile to Babylon because of their unfaithfulness.
וְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ הִתְיַחְשׂ֔וּ וְהִנָּ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֔ים עַל־סֵ֖פֶר מַלְכֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וִיהוּדָ֛ה הָגְל֥וּ לְבָבֶ֖ל בְּמַעֲלָֽם׃ ס ‬
2The first to resettle on their own property in their own towns were Israelites, priests, Levites, and temple servants.
וְהַיּוֹשְׁבִים֙ הָרִ֣אשֹׁנִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר בַּאֲחֻזָּתָ֖ם בְּעָרֵיהֶ֑ם יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים הַלְוִיִּ֖ם וְהַנְּתִינִֽים׃ ‬
3In Jerusalem there lived some of the descendants of Judah, of Benjamin, and of Ephraim and Manasseh:
וּבִירוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ יָשְׁב֔וּ מִן־בְּנֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה וּמִן־בְּנֵ֣י בִנְיָמִ֑ן וּמִן־בְּנֵ֥י אֶפְרַ֖יִם וּמְנַשֶּֽׁה׃ ‬
4Uthai son of Ammihud, son of Omri, son of Imri, son of Bani, from the descendants of Perez son of Judah.

5From the Shilonites: Asaiah the firstborn, and his sons.

6From the descendants of Zerah: Jeuel. Their kinsmen numbered 690.
וּמִן־בְּנֵי־זֶ֖רַח יְעוּאֵ֑ל וַאֲחֵיהֶ֖ם שֵׁשׁ־מֵא֥וֹת וְתִשְׁעִֽים׃ ‬

וּמַעֲשֵׂיָ֣ה בֶן־בָּר֣וּךְ בֶּן־כָּל־חֹ֠זֶה בֶּן־חֲזָיָ֨ה בֶן־עֲדָיָ֧ה בֶן־יוֹיָרִ֛יב בֶּן־זְכַרְיָ֖ה בֶּן־הַשִּׁלֹנִֽי׃ ‬
6All the descendants of Perez living in Jerusalem numbered 468 able men.
