Journey with Paul to Jerusalem

Tychicus was one of the representatives from Asia who accompanied Paul on his final journey to Jerusalem with the collection for the poor.

4Traveling with him were Sopater son of Pyrrhus, from Berea; Aristarchus and Secundus from Thessalonica; Gaius from Derbe; Timothy; and Tychicus and Trophimus from the province of Asia.

Bearer of the Letter to the Ephesians

Paul sent Tychicus with the letter to the Ephesians to tell them about his situation and encourage them. Paul called him a beloved brother and a faithful servant in the Lord.

21So that you also may know how I am and what I am doing, Tychicus, our dear brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will tell you everything.
22I am sending him to you for this very reason: that you may know how things are with us, and that he may encourage your hearts.

Bearer of the Letter to the Colossians

Together with Onesimus, Tychicus was sent to Colossae to deliver Paul's letter and tell the church how the apostle was doing.

7Tychicus will tell you all about my situation. He is a beloved brother, a faithful servant and fellow slave in the Lord.
8I am sending him to you for this very purpose, so that you may know how we are and that he may encourage your hearts.
9With him comes Onesimus, our faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They will tell you everything that is happening here.

Possible Mission to Crete or Ephesus

Paul planned to send either Artemas or Tychicus to Titus in Crete, showing the trust Paul had in him as a leader.

12As soon as I send Artemas to you, or Tychicus, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there.

Sent to Ephesus

In his last known letter, Paul mentions that he has sent Tychicus to Ephesus, probably to continue the ministry there.

12Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus.
