David defeats the Edomites and places garrisons
Abishai, son of Zeruiah, strikes down 18,000 Edomites in the Valley of Salt. David places garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites become his servants. The Lord gives David victory wherever he goes.
1 Chroniques 18,12-13
12Abishai son of Zeruiah struck down eighteen thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt.
וְאַבְשַׁ֣י בֶּן־צְרוּיָ֗ה הִכָּ֤ה אֶת־אֱדוֹם֙ בְּגֵ֣יא הַמֶּ֔לַח שְׁמוֹנָ֥ה עָשָׂ֖ר אָֽלֶף׃
13David stationed garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites became his subjects. So the LORD gave David victory wherever he went.
וַיָּ֤שֶׂם בֶּֽאֱדוֹם֙ נְצִיבִ֔ים וַיִּהְי֥וּ כָל־אֱד֖וֹם עֲבָדִ֣ים לְדָוִ֑יד וַיּ֤וֹשַׁע יְהוָה֙ אֶת־דָּוִ֔יד בְּכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָלָֽךְ׃
