Elihu Speaks Up

When Job's three friends stop answering him because he is righteous in his own eyes, Elihu son of Barakel the Buzite from Ram's clan becomes burning angry. He is angry at Job for justifying himself rather than God, and at the three friends because they found no answer yet still condemned Job as guilty. Elihu had waited to speak because the others were older, but now declares that it is the spirit in man, the breath of the Almighty, that gives understanding—not age. He explains that he is full of words and must speak to get air, and promises not to show partiality or flatter anyone.
