Asmaveth is a name borne by several individuals in the Old Testament, and it is debated whether any of them are identical. The most prominent is Asmaveth of Bahurim, who was one of David's thirty mighty men – an elite force known for their individual feats in battle. Another Asmaveth, son of Adiel, served as overseer over the king's treasuries, an important administrative position in David's kingdom.
