Eljasaph, son of Deuel (also called Reuel), was the leader of the tribe of Gad during the wilderness wanderings. He was appointed by God to stand with Moses during the census and represented his tribe at the dedication of the tabernacle. He played an important administrative and military role in organizing the people of Israel in the desert.
24The descendants of Gad: all the men twenty years old and upward who were fit for military service were listed by name, according to their genealogy, by clan and family.
On the sixth day, Eljasa, son of Deuel, brought his offering at the dedication of the altar in the tabernacle, including a silver plate, a silver basin, a gold bowl with incense, and several animals for sacrifice.
43His offering was one silver plate weighing a hundred and thirty shekels and one silver basin of seventy shekels, by the sanctuary shekel, both of them filled with fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering;
47and for the fellowship offering, two head of cattle, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs a year old. This was the offering of Eliasaph son of Deuel.
