The Promise of Salvation for Jacob
A direct message from the Lord to his servant Jacob (Israel), telling him not to fear even though the people have been driven into exile. God promises to save them from afar, give them rest and security, and discipline them with measure without making an end of them. Jeremiah 46:27-28
Jeremia 46,27-28
27But as for you, do not be afraid, my servant Jacob; do not be dismayed, Israel. For I will surely save you from far away, and your offspring from the land of their captivity. Jacob will return and be at rest, secure, with no one to make him afraid.
וְ֠אַתָּה אַל־תִּירָ֞א עַבְדִּ֤י יַֽעֲקֹב֙ וְאַל־תֵּחַ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כִּ֠י הִנְנִ֤י מוֹשִֽׁעֲךָ֙ מֵֽרָח֔וֹק וְאֶֽת־זַרְעֲךָ֖ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ שִׁבְיָ֑ם וְשָׁ֧ב יַעֲק֛וֹב וְשָׁקַ֥ט וְשַׁאֲנַ֖ן וְאֵ֥ין מַחֲרִֽיד׃ ס
28Do not be afraid, my servant Jacob, declares the LORD, for I am with you. Though I will completely destroy all the nations among which I have scattered you, I will not destroy you completely. I will discipline you with justice, but I will by no means leave you unpunished.
אַ֠תָּה אַל־תִּירָ֞א עַבְדִּ֤י יַֽעֲקֹב֙ נְאֻם־יְהוָ֔ה כִּ֥י אִתְּךָ֖ אָ֑נִי כִּי֩ אֶעֱשֶׂ֨ה כָלָ֜ה בְּכָֽל־הַגּוֹיִ֣ם ׀ אֲשֶׁ֧ר הִדַּחְתִּ֣יךָ שָׁ֗מָּה וְאֹֽתְךָ֙ לֹא־אֶעֱשֶׂ֣ה כָלָ֔ה וְיִסַּרְתִּ֙יךָ֙ לַמִּשְׁפָּ֔ט וְנַקֵּ֖ה לֹ֥א אֲנַקֶּֽךָּ׃ ס
