Mentioned as Ezekiel's father
Buzi is named by name at the beginning of the book of Ezekiel, where the prophet is introduced as 'Ezekiel, the son of the priest Buzi'. This establishes Ezekiel's priestly heritage.
3the word of the LORD came to Ezekiel son of Buzi, the priest, in the land of the Chaldeans by the Kebar River; and there the hand of the LORD was upon him.
Priestly lineage
As a priest, Buzi belonged to an honorable family responsible for temple service in Jerusalem. This background shaped his son Ezekiel's prophetic ministry with its strong focus on temple visions.
