Hem Personer Philip (the evangelist) Philip was one of the seven men chosen to serve the church in Jerusalem. He preached the gospel in Samaria with great power and baptized the Ethiopian eunuch on the road to Gaza. Later, he lived in Caesarea with his four daughters who had the gift of prophecy.
Nyckelhändelser Philip, together with Stephen and five others, was chosen to serve at the tables so that the apostles could devote themselves to prayer and the Word.
5 This proposal pleased the whole gathering, and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, along with Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a convert from Antioch. grek καὶ ἤρεσεν ὁ λόγος ἐνώπιον παντὸς τοῦ πλήθους, καὶ ἐξελέξαντο Στέφανον, ἄνδρα ⸀πλήρης πίστεως καὶ πνεύματος ἁγίου, καὶ Φίλιππον καὶ Πρόχορον καὶ Νικάνορα καὶ Τίμωνα καὶ Παρμενᾶν καὶ Νικόλαον προσήλυτον Ἀντιοχέα,
Philip preached Christ in a city in Samaria, performed signs and wonders, and many came to faith and were baptized.
5 Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed the Christ to them. grek
6 The crowds listened with one mind to what Philip said, hearing him and seeing the signs he performed. grek
12 But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. grek ὅτε δὲ ἐπίστευσαν τῷ Φιλίππῳ εὐαγγελιζομένῳ ⸀περὶ τῆς βασιλείας τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ τοῦ ὀνόματος Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ, ἐβαπτίζοντο ἄνδρες τε καὶ γυναῖκες.
Guided by the Spirit, Philip explained Isaiah's prophecy to an Ethiopian official and baptized him on the road to Gaza.
26 An angel of the Lord spoke to Philip: "Get up and go south, to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza." This is a desert road. grek
35 Then Philip began with that passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus. grek
38 He ordered the chariot to stop, and both of them went down into the water, Philip and the eunuch, and Philip baptized him. grek καὶ ἐκέλευσεν στῆναι τὸ ἅρμα, καὶ κατέβησαν ἀμφότεροι εἰς τὸ ὕδωρ ὅ τε Φίλιππος καὶ ὁ εὐνοῦχος, καὶ ἐβάπτισεν αὐτόν.
Paul stayed with Philip the evangelist in Caesarea, where Philip's four unmarried daughters had the gift of prophecy.
8 The next day we left and came to Caesarea. There we went to the house of Philip the evangelist, one of the Seven, and stayed with him. grek τῇ δὲ ἐπαύριον ἐξελθόντες ⸀ἤλθομεν εἰς Καισάρειαν, καὶ εἰσελθόντες εἰς τὸν οἶκον Φιλίππου τοῦ εὐαγγελιστοῦ ὄντος ἐκ τῶν ἑπτὰ ἐμείναμεν παρʼ αὐτῷ.
9 He had four unmarried daughters who prophesied. grek
