Joram (Son of King Toi of Hamat, sent to David)

Joram was the son of King Toi (also called Tou) of Hamat. He was sent by his father to King David to congratulate him on his victory over Hadadezer, king of Zobah, who had been an enemy of Hamat. Joram brought gifts of gold, silver, and bronze, which David dedicated to the Lord.

10he sent his son Joram to King David to greet him and to congratulate him on his victory in battle over Hadadezer, for Hadadezer had been at war with Toi. Joram brought with him articles of silver, gold, and bronze.

וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח תֹּ֣עִי אֶת־יֽוֹרָם־בְּנ֣וֹ אֶל־הַמֶּֽלֶךְ־דָּ֠וִד לִשְׁאָל־ל֨וֹ לְשָׁל֜וֹם וּֽלְבָרֲכ֗וֹ עַל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר נִלְחַ֤ם בַּהֲדַדְעֶ֙זֶר֙ וַיַּכֵּ֔הוּ כִּי־אִ֛ישׁ מִלְחֲמ֥וֹת תֹּ֖עִי הָיָ֣ה הֲדַדְעָ֑זֶר וּבְיָד֗וֹ הָי֛וּ כְּלֵֽי־כֶ֥סֶף וּכְלֵֽי־זָהָ֖ב וּכְלֵ֥י נְחֹֽשֶׁת׃
11King David dedicated these also to the LORD, along with the silver and gold he had dedicated from all the nations he had subdued:
גַּם־אֹתָ֕ם הִקְדִּ֛ישׁ הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ דָּוִ֖ד לַֽיהוָ֑ה עִם־הַכֶּ֤סֶף וְהַזָּהָב֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הִקְדִּ֔ישׁ מִכָּל־הַגּוֹיִ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר כִּבֵּֽשׁ׃
David's Dedication of the Gifts
King David dedicated Joram's gifts to the Lord, along with the silver and gold he had taken from other nations he had conquered.
11King David dedicated these also to the LORD, along with the silver and gold he had dedicated from all the nations he had subdued:
גַּם־אֹתָ֕ם הִקְדִּ֛ישׁ הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ דָּוִ֖ד לַֽיהוָ֑ה עִם־הַכֶּ֤סֶף וְהַזָּהָב֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הִקְדִּ֔ישׁ מִכָּל־הַגּוֹיִ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר כִּבֵּֽשׁ׃
12from Aram, Moab, the Ammonites, the Philistines, and Amalek, and from the plunder of Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
מֵאֲרָ֤ם וּמִמּוֹאָב֙ וּמִבְּנֵ֣י עַמּ֔וֹן וּמִפְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים וּמֵֽעֲמָלֵ֑ק וּמִשְּׁלַ֛ל הֲדַדְעֶ֥זֶר בֶּן־רְחֹ֖ב מֶ֥לֶךְ צוֹבָֽה׃
