Mentioned in the Table of Nations

Seba is listed as the firstborn son of Cush in the post-flood genealogy, which describes the origin of the world's nations.

7The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

Repeated in Chronicles

Seba's genealogy is repeated in 1 Chronicles as part of the great genealogy from Adam onward.

9The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabta, Raama, and Sabteka. The sons of Raama: Sheba and Dedan.

Isaiah's Prophecy about Distant Peoples

Isaiah prophesies that people from Seba will come to the God of Israel, pointing toward a future turning of distant nations.

3For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I gave Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in your place.

Nations as Ransom

God declares that he has given Egypt, Cush, and Seba as ransom for Israel, showing God's love for his people.

14This is what the LORD says: The wealth of Egypt, the merchandise of Cush, and the tall Sabeans will come over to you and be yours. They will walk behind you; they will come over in chains. They will bow down to you and plead with you: "Surely God is with you, and there is no other; there is no other God."

The People of Seba Bring Gifts

In the book of Psalms it is mentioned that kings from Seba will bring gifts, which prophetically points to universal worship of God.

10May the kings of Tarshish and the distant shores bring tribute; may the kings of Sheba and Seba present their gifts.
