Miracles of Jesus

Jesus Curses the Fig Tree

On the way from Bethany, Jesus became hungry and went to a fig tree with leaves, but found no fruit because it was not the season for figs. He said: 'May no one ever eat fruit from you again.' Early the next morning, the disciples discovered that the tree had withered from the roots, and Peter exclaimed: 'Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered.'

Mark 11,12-14

12The next day, as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry.
13Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out whether it had any fruit. But when he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.
14So he said to it, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again." And his disciples heard him.

Mark 11,20-21

20In the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots.
21Peter remembered and said to him, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered."
