Accessibility statement
About accessibility on this site
bible.flogvit.com is built to be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. The site is built with server-rendered HTML: all content is readable without JavaScript, and navigation is ordinary page loads.
Status
Conformance status: Partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA
Last tested July 2026: automated testing with axe-core (WCAG 2.0/2.1 level A and AA) on every page type found no violations, and a machine review of more than 250 pages confirmed the structure (headings, landmarks, alt texts, links). Manual testing with screen readers remains — hence “partially conformant”.
Known limitations
We are aware of the following areas that may have accessibility problems:
- Not all features have been tested with screen readers (VoiceOver/NVDA)
- Colour contrast in dark mode has not been reviewed separately
- Offline functionality and uploading your own translations are still under development
We are actively working to test and fix any problems.
What are we doing?
Structure and semantics
- Semantic, structured HTML with correct landmark regions
- Skip link to jump straight to the main content
- Correct heading hierarchy (h1-h6)
- Breadcrumbs on every page for orientation
- Language marking on Hebrew and Greek text (lang attribute)
- Abbreviations explained with the abbr tag
- ARIA labels on all interactive elements
- aria-live regions for status messages
Visual accessibility
- Colour contrast that meets the WCAG AA requirement (4.5:1)
- Information is never conveyed by colour alone (icons/symbols as well)
- Clear focus indicator on every clickable element
- Adjustable text size (small/medium/large)
- Dark mode for reduced light exposure
- Support for high contrast mode (prefers-contrast)
- Support for reduced motion (prefers-reduced-motion)
- Minimum target size 24x24px (WCAG 2.5.8)
Navigation
- Consistent placement of navigation, header and footer
- Several ways to find content (search, menu, breadcrumbs, sitemap)
- Descriptive link texts and aria labels
- No unexpected changes of context on focus or input
- Consistent help available via the footer (WCAG 3.2.6)
Keyboard navigation
- All features available via the keyboard
- Focus is not hidden behind sticky elements (WCAG 2.4.11)
- Logical tab order
- No keyboard traps
