Jonathan, the son of priest Abiathar, served alongside Ahimaaz as a messenger for David during Absalom's rebellion. Later, he brought news to Adoniah that Solomon had been installed as king.

Jonathan and Ahimaaz hid at En-Rogel to bring David a message during Absalom's rebellion.
17Jonathan and Ahimaaz were waiting at En-rogel, and a servant girl would go and bring them word, and they would go and report to King David, for they could not risk being seen entering the city.
