Iddo was a prophet and seer who served in the kingdom of Judah during the reigns of kings Rehoboam, Abijah, and Solomon. He is known for having written chronicles and prophetic writings that are referenced in the Bible, although these works have not been preserved. He is also mentioned as the grandfather of the prophet Zechariah.
29As for the rest of the acts of Solomon, from beginning to end, are they not written in the records of Nathan the prophet, in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam son of Nebat?
15The events of Rehoboam's reign, from beginning to end, are they not written in the records of Shemaiah the prophet and of Iddo the seer, along with the genealogies? There was continual warfare between Rehoboam and Jeroboam.
