Son of Eliezer and descendant of Moses

Rehobiah was the son of Eliezer and grandson of Moses. He was head of a Levitical family that served in temple duties under King David. His descendants were very numerous and had responsibility for managing holy treasures and offerings.

Rehobiah is mentioned as the only son of Eliezer, son of Moses. Even though Eliezer had only one son, Rehobiah's descendants were very numerous.

Levitical service divisions under David

Rehobiah's descendants were registered as part of the Levitical service divisions when David organized temple worship.

21As for Rehabiah: of the sons of Rehabiah, Isshiah was the first.

Responsibility for the Holy Treasures

The descendants of Rehabiah, son of Shelimoth, and his brothers were in charge of all the holy treasures that King David, the heads of families, the commanders of thousands and hundreds, and other officers had dedicated to the Lord.

25His relatives through Eliezer: Rehabiah his son, Jeshaiah his son, Joram his son, Zichri his son, and Shelomoth his son.

26This Shelomoth and his brothers were in charge of all the treasuries of the holy gifts dedicated by King David, by the heads of the families, by the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and by the commanders of the army.
