Rehobiah was the son of Eliezer and grandson of Moses. He was head of a Levitical family that served in temple duties under King David. His descendants were very numerous and had responsibility for managing holy treasures and offerings.
The descendants of Rehabiah, son of Shelimoth, and his brothers were in charge of all the holy treasures that King David, the heads of families, the commanders of thousands and hundreds, and other officers had dedicated to the Lord.
26This Shelomoth and his brothers were in charge of all the treasuries of the holy gifts dedicated by King David, by the heads of the families, by the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and by the commanders of the army.
28Everything that Samuel the seer, Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner, and Joab son of Zeruiah had dedicated—all these dedicated gifts were under the care of Shelomoth and his brothers.
