Son of Gad
Haggi was the eldest son of Gad, who was one of Jacob's twelve sons. He was among those who went down to Egypt with Jacob and his family. Haggi became the ancestor of the clan of the Haggites among Gad's descendants.

26All the persons belonging to Jacob who came to Egypt, his own direct descendants, not counting the wives of Jacob's sons, numbered sixty-six in all.

27With the two sons born to Joseph in Egypt, the persons of Jacob's household who came to Egypt numbered seventy.
וּבְנֵ֥י יוֹסֵ֛ף אֲשֶׁר־יֻלַּד־ל֥וֹ בְמִצְרַ֖יִם נֶ֣פֶשׁ שְׁנָ֑יִם כָּל־הַנֶּ֧פֶשׁ לְבֵֽית־יַעֲקֹ֛ב הַבָּ֥אָה מִצְרַ֖יְמָה שִׁבְעִֽים׃ פ

17from Arod, the Arodite clan; from Areli, the Arelite clan.
לַאֲר֕וֹד מִשְׁפַּ֖חַת הָאֲרוֹדִ֑י לְאַ֨רְאֵלִ֔י מִשְׁפַּ֖חַת הָאַרְאֵלִֽי׃
18These were the clans of the sons of Gad, and their number was 40,500.
