Standardausgabe Then Elisha prayed, "LORD, open his eyes so he may see." The LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he looked, and there was the mountain, full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
Then Elisha prayed, "LORD, open his eyes so he may see." The LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the mountainside full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. The Hebrew הָהָר is simply "the mountain," not specifically its slope; "mountainside" adds a detail not in the text. Rendering וְהִנֵּה with "and there was" also preserves the sudden, vivid disclosure of the vision, which reads well aloud.
18 As the Arameans came down toward him, Elisha prayed to the LORD, "Strike this army with blindness." So he struck them with blindness, as Elisha had asked. Urtext Verweise Themen Notizen Manuskripte
