Reign and Death of Abijah
Abijah strengthened his power, took fourteen wives, and had twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters. The rest of his deeds are recorded in the exposition of the prophet Iddo. Abijah died and was buried in the city of David, and his son Asa became king after him, with ten years of peace in the land.
2 Chronicles 13,21-23
21But Abijah grew strong. He took fourteen wives and had twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.
וַיִּתְחַזֵּ֣ק אֲבִיָּ֔הוּ וַיִּ֨שָּׂא־ל֔וֹ נָשִׁ֖ים אַרְבַּ֣ע עֶשְׂרֵ֑ה וַיּ֗וֹלֶד עֶשְׂרִ֤ים וּשְׁנַ֙יִם֙ בָּנִ֔ים וְשֵׁ֥שׁ עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה בָּנֽוֹת׃ ס
22The rest of Abijah's acts, his ways and his sayings, are written in the commentary of the prophet Iddo.
וְיֶ֙תֶר֙ דִּבְרֵ֣י אֲבִיָּ֔ה וּדְרָכָ֖יו וּדְבָרָ֑יו כְּתוּבִ֕ים בְּמִדְרַ֖שׁ הַנָּבִ֥יא עִדּֽוֹ׃
23Abijah rested with his fathers and was buried in the City of David, and his son Asa became king in his place. In Asa's days the land was at peace for ten years.
וַיִּשְׁכַּ֨ב אֲבִיָּ֜ה עִם־אֲבֹתָ֗יו וַיִּקְבְּר֤וּ אֹתוֹ֙ בְּעִ֣יר דָּוִ֔יד וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ אָסָ֥א בְנ֖וֹ תַּחְתָּ֑יו בְּיָמָ֛יו שָׁקְטָ֥ה הָאָ֖רֶץ עֶ֥שֶׂר שָׁנִֽים׃ פ
