The Law of the Burnt Offering

The Lord gave Moses this command for Aaron and his sons concerning the law of the burnt offering. The offering must remain on the hearth of the altar all night, and the fire must be kept burning. The priest shall put on a linen tunic and linen trousers when he removes the ashes and places them beside the altar. Then he shall change his clothes and carry the ashes outside the camp to a clean place. Every morning the priest is to add wood to the fire, arrange the burnt offering, and burn the fat of the peace offerings. A perpetual fire must be kept burning on the altar; it must never go out.
