Hashub was a Levite who lived in the period after the exile in Babylon. He is mentioned in the book of Nehemiah as one of the Levites who took part in the great prayer and covenant renewal when the people returned to Jerusalem. He helped seal the covenant with God on behalf of the people.

Hashub was among the Levites who cried out with a loud voice to the Lord their God during the great act of repentance and prayer in Jerusalem.
5Then the Levites—Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah—said: "Stand up and bless the LORD your God from everlasting to everlasting." "Blessed be your glorious name, which is exalted above every blessing and praise.
7And Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, and Pelaiah—the Levites—explained the Law to the people while they remained in their places.
As part of the group of Levites, Hashub helped ensure that the people committed themselves to keeping the Sabbath, paying the temple tax, and following God's commands after returning from exile.
