Pahat-Moab (meaning 'governor of Moab') was the head of a prominent Jewish family that returned from the Babylonian exile. His descendants were among the largest groups to return to Jerusalem under Zerubbabel and later under Ezra. The family played an important role in the rebuilding of Jerusalem and the renewal of the covenant with God.

The descendants of Pahat-Moab, through Joshua and Joab, were among the largest groups to return from Babylon to Jerusalem. They numbered 2,812 people.

Pahat-Moab's descendants were also listed in Nehemiah's register of those who returned from captivity, numbering 2,818 people.
