And I said: Listen, you leaders of Jacob, you rulers of the house of Israel! Is it not your business to know what is just?
Yet you hate good and love evil. You tear the skin from my people and the flesh from their bones.
You devour my people's flesh, strip off their skin, break their bones in pieces, and chop them up like meat for the pot, like flesh in the cauldron.
Then they will cry out to the LORD, but he will not answer them. He will hide his face from them at that time, because of the evil they have done.
This is what the LORD says against the prophets who lead my people astray: when they have something to sink their teeth into, they proclaim peace; but against the one who puts nothing in their mouths, they declare holy war.
Therefore night will come over you—no more visions; darkness will fall on you—no more divining. The sun will set on these prophets, and the day will turn black over them.
The seers will be put to shame and the diviners disgraced. They will all cover their lips, because there is no answer from God.
But as for me, I am filled with power by the Spirit of the LORD, with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his rebellion, to Israel his sin.
Hear this, you leaders of the house of Jacob, you rulers of the house of Israel, who despise justice and twist everything that is right,
who build Zion with bloodshed and Jerusalem with wrongdoing.
Her leaders judge for a bribe, her priests teach for a price, her prophets divine for silver—and still they lean on the LORD and say, "Is the LORD not among us? No disaster can touch us."
Therefore, because of you, Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble, and the temple mount a wooded height.
