Show the armor6 parts of the spiritual armor

Paul uses the image of a Roman soldier's armor to describe how Christians can stand against the powers of evil.

1

The Belt of Truth

Bind truth around your waist like a belt. Truth gives stability and holds everything in place.

v.14
2

The Breastplate of Righteousness

Put on righteousness as a breastplate. It protects the heart from accusations.

v.14
3

The Gospel of Peace as Footwear

Have as shoes on your feet the readiness that the gospel of peace provides.

v.15
4

The Shield of Faith

Take up above all the shield of faith, which can extinguish all the evil one's flaming arrows.

v.16
5

The Helmet of Salvation

Receive the helmet of salvation. It protects the mind and gives hope.

v.17
6

The Sword of the Spirit

Take the sword of the Spirit, which is God's word. The only offensive weapon in the armor.

v.17
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
"Honor your father and mother" — this is the first commandment with a promise —
"so that it may go well with you and you may live long on the earth."
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger; instead, bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Slaves, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would obey Christ —
not with the kind of service that is only for show, to please people, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.
Serve willingly, as serving the Lord and not people,
knowing that each one will receive back from the Lord whatever good he does, whether slave or free.
And masters, treat your slaves the same way. Give up making threats, for you know that both they and you have the same Master in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can stand against the schemes of the devil.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to hold your ground on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand.
So stand firm, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
and with your feet strapped with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
Take also the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. And to that end stay alert, persevering in prayer for all the saints.
Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will boldly make known the mystery of the gospel,
for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I ought to speak.
So that you also may know how I am and what I am doing, Tychicus, our dear brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will tell you everything.
I am sending him to you for this very reason: that you may know how things are with us, and that he may encourage your hearts.
Peace to the brothers and sisters, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with a love that never dies.
