Burial of Joseph's bones in Shechem
Joseph's bones, which the Israelites had brought up from Egypt, were buried in Shechem on the plot of land that Jacob had bought from Hamor's sons for a hundred kesitahs. The place became an inheritance for Joseph's descendants.

32The bones of Joseph, which the Israelites had brought up from Egypt, were buried at Shechem in the plot of ground Jacob had bought from the sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem, for a hundred pieces of silver. It became the inheritance of Joseph's descendants.
וְאֶת־עַצְמ֣וֹת י֠וֹסֵף אֲשֶׁר־הֶעֱל֨וּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל ׀ מִמִּצְרַיִם֮ קָבְר֣וּ בִשְׁכֶם֒ בְּחֶלְקַ֣ת הַשָּׂדֶ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר קָנָ֧ה יַעֲקֹ֛ב מֵאֵ֛ת בְּנֵֽי־חֲמ֥וֹר אֲבִֽי־שְׁכֶ֖ם בְּמֵאָ֣ה קְשִׂיטָ֑ה וַיִּֽהְי֥וּ לִבְנֵֽי־יוֹסֵ֖ף לְנַחֲלָֽה׃
