Standardausgabe Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes shall overtake the one who sows the seed; the mountains shall drip sweet wine, and all the hills shall flow with it.
Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when the plowman shall overtake the reaper and the treader of grapes the one who sows the seed; the mountains shall drip sweet wine, and all the hills shall flow with it. The elliptical second clause ("the treader of grapes the one who sows the seed") is hard to follow when read aloud, since the listener has no verb to hold onto. Repeating the verb keeps the parallel structure of the Hebrew clear and preserves the rhythm for oral reading.
