Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but the one who hates correction is a brute.
A good man wins the LORD's favor, but the schemer he condemns.
No one is made secure by wickedness, but the root of the righteous is never uprooted.
A capable wife is her husband's crown, but a disgraceful one is like rot in his bones.
The plans of the righteous are just; the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
The words of the wicked lie in ambush for blood, but the mouth of the upright rescues the hunted.
The wicked are overthrown and gone, but the house of the righteous stands.
A man is praised for his good sense, but the twisted of heart is despised.
Better to be lowly and have a servant than to play the great man and go hungry.
The righteous man cares for the life of his animal, but even the mercy of the wicked is cruel.
Whoever works his land will have bread enough, but whoever chases empty dreams has no sense.
The wicked man craves what evildoers catch, but the root of the righteous bears fruit.
The evil man is trapped by the sin of his own lips, but the righteous escapes from trouble.
From the fruit of his mouth a man is filled with good, and the work of his hands comes back to him.
The way of a fool seems right in his own eyes, but the one who listens to counsel is wise.
A fool shows his anger at once, but the prudent overlooks an insult.
A truthful witness speaks what is right, but a false witness breathes deceit.
Reckless words cut like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.
Deceit fills the hearts of those who plot evil, but joy belongs to those who counsel peace.
No harm will overtake the righteous, but the wicked are filled with trouble.
Lying lips are detestable to the LORD, but those who act faithfully delight him.
A prudent man keeps his knowledge to himself, but the heart of fools blurts out folly.
The diligent hand will rule, but the lazy one ends up in forced labor.
Anxiety weighs a man's heart down, but a good word lifts it up.
The righteous man shows his neighbor the way, but the path of the wicked leads them astray.
The lazy man never roasts his game, but the diligent man has precious wealth.
In the way of righteousness there is life, and along that path there is no death.
