I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys.[^1] [^1]: The Hebrew flower names are uncertain; the first may be a crocus or meadow flower, the second a lotus or lily.
Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the young women.
Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest is my beloved among the young men. I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste.
He brought me to the banquet hall, and his banner over me is love.
Sustain me with raisin cakes, refresh me with apples, for I am faint with love.
