The Song of Songs, which is Solomon's.
Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth—for your love is better than wine.
The fragrance of your oils is sweet; your name is oil poured out—therefore the maidens love you.
Take me with you—let us run! The king has brought me into his chambers. We will rejoice and be glad in you; we will praise your love more than wine. Rightly do they love you.
I am dark, and I am lovely, daughters of Jerusalem, like the tents of Kedar, like the curtains of Solomon.
Do not stare at me because I am dark, because the sun has gazed upon me. My mother's sons were angry with me; they made me keeper of the vineyards, but my own vineyard I have not kept.
Tell me, you whom my soul loves, where do you pasture your flock, where do you let it rest at noon? Why should I be like a veiled woman beside the flocks of your companions?
If you do not know, most beautiful of women, follow the tracks of the flock and pasture your young goats beside the shepherds' tents.
I compare you, my love, to a mare among Pharaoh's chariots.
Your cheeks are lovely with ornaments, your neck with strings of jewels.
We will make you ornaments of gold, studded with silver.
While the king was at his table, my nard gave forth its fragrance.
My beloved is to me a sachet of myrrh, resting all night between my breasts.
My beloved is to me a cluster of henna blossoms in the vineyards of En-gedi.
How beautiful you are, my love, how beautiful you are! Your eyes are doves.
How handsome you are, my beloved, how delightful! And our bed is lush and green.
The beams of our house are cedars; our rafters are cypress.
