Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.
For look: darkness covers the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the LORD rises upon you, and his glory appears over you.
Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawning.
Lift up your eyes and look around: they all gather, they come to you. Your sons come from far away, and your daughters are carried on the hip.
Then you will see and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy, for the riches of the sea will be turned toward you, the wealth of the nations will come to you.
Caravans of camels will cover you, young camels of Midian and Ephah; all of them will come from Sheba, bearing gold and frankincense, proclaiming the praises of the LORD.
All the flocks of Kedar will be gathered to you, the rams of Nebaioth will serve you; they will go up on my altar as an acceptable offering, and I will glorify my glorious house.
Who are these that fly like a cloud, like doves to their windows?
Surely the coastlands wait for me, the ships of Tarshish in the lead, to bring your sons from far away, their silver and their gold with them, for the name of the LORD your God, for the Holy One of Israel, because he has glorified you.
Foreigners will rebuild your walls, and their kings will serve you; for in my wrath I struck you, but in my favor I have shown you mercy.
Your gates will always stand open; day and night they will never be shut, so that the wealth of the nations may be brought to you, with their kings led in procession.
For the nation and kingdom that will not serve you will perish; those nations will be utterly laid waste.
The glory of Lebanon will come to you—cypress, plane, and pine together—to adorn the place of my sanctuary; and I will honor the place where my feet rest.
The children of your oppressors will come bowing before you; all who despised you will bow down at your feet. They will call you the City of the LORD, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
Whereas you were forsaken and hated, with no one passing through, I will make you the everlasting pride, the joy of all generations.
You will drink the milk of nations and nurse at the breasts of kings. Then you will know that I, the LORD, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
Instead of bronze I will bring gold, instead of iron I will bring silver; instead of wood, bronze, and instead of stones, iron. I will make peace your governor and righteousness your ruler.
Violence will no longer be heard of in your land, nor ruin and destruction within your borders; you will call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise.
The sun will no longer be your light by day, nor will the moon shine on you with its brightness; the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.
Your sun will never set, and your moon will not wane; the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your days of mourning will be ended.
Your people will all be righteous; they will possess the land forever—the shoot of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.
The least of them will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the LORD; in its time I will bring it about swiftly.
