As we work together with him, then, we urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

For he says: "At the acceptable time I heard you, and on the day of salvation I helped you." Look, now is the acceptable time; look, now is the day of salvation.

We put no stumbling block in anyone's way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry.

Instead, in every way we commend ourselves as servants of God: in great endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses,

in beatings, in imprisonments, in riots, in hard labor, in sleepless nights, in times of hunger,

in purity, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in genuine love,

in the word of truth, in the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left;

through honor and dishonor, through slander and praise. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true;

as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and look—we live; as punished, and yet not killed;

as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing everything.

We have spoken openly to you, Corinthians; our heart is wide open.

You are not cramped by us; you are cramped by your own affections.

In fair exchange—I speak as to my children—open wide your hearts as well.

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?

What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?

What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God, as God has said: "I will dwell in them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people."

"Therefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord, and touch nothing unclean, and I will welcome you."

"And I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."
