The word of the LORD of hosts came, saying:
This is what the LORD of hosts says: I am jealous for Zion with a great jealousy; with great wrath I am jealous for her.
This is what the LORD says: I will return to Zion and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem will be called the City of Truth, and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the Holy Mountain.
This is what the LORD of hosts says: Old men and old women will again sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each with a staff in hand because of great age.
And the streets of the city will be filled with boys and girls playing there.
This is what the LORD of hosts says: If it seems impossible to the remnant of this people in those days, should it also seem impossible to me? declares the LORD of hosts.
This is what the LORD of hosts says: I am going to save my people from the land of the east and from the land of the setting sun.
I will bring them back to dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. They will be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.
This is what the LORD of hosts says: Let your hands be strong, you who now hear these words from the mouth of the prophets who spoke when the foundation was laid for the house of the LORD of hosts, so that the temple could be built.
For before those days there was no wage for man or beast, and no one could come or go in safety because of the enemy, since I had turned everyone against his neighbor.
But now I will not deal with the remnant of this people as in former days, declares the LORD of hosts.
For there will be a sowing of peace: the vine will yield its fruit, the ground will give its produce, and the heavens will give their dew. All this I will grant as an inheritance to the remnant of this people.
Just as you were a curse among the nations, house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid; let your hands be strong.
For this is what the LORD of hosts says: Just as I resolved to bring disaster on you when your ancestors provoked me to anger, says the LORD of hosts, and I did not relent,
so now I have resolved again in these days to do good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. Do not be afraid.
These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to one another; render judgments in your gates that are true and make for peace.
Do not plot evil in your hearts against your neighbor, and do not love false oaths, for all these things I hate, declares the LORD.
The word of the LORD of hosts came to me, saying:
This is what the LORD of hosts says: The fasts of the fourth, fifth, seventh, and tenth months will become for the house of Judah times of joy and gladness, seasons of celebration. So love truth and peace.
This is what the LORD of hosts says: Peoples will yet come, the inhabitants of many cities.
The people of one city will go to another and say, "Let us go at once to entreat the favor of the LORD and to seek the LORD of hosts. I myself am going."
Many peoples and mighty nations will come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of the LORD.
This is what the LORD of hosts says: In those days ten men from all the languages of the nations will take hold of the hem of one Jew's robe and say, "Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you."
