Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, across from Jericho. And the LORD showed him the whole land: Gilead as far as Dan,
Then the LORD said to him, "This is the land I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob when I said, 'I will give it to your descendants.' I have let you see it with your own eyes, but you will not cross over into it."
So Moses, the servant of the LORD, died there in the land of Moab, as the LORD had said.
He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth Peor, but to this day no one knows where his grave is.<note>The Hebrew verb is singular with an unstated subject; the implied subject is understood to be the LORD, though it may also be read impersonally, "he was buried."</note>
The Israelites mourned for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days, until the time of weeping and mourning for Moses was over.
Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites listened to him and did as the LORD had commanded Moses.
who performed all those signs and wonders the LORD sent him to do in the land of Egypt—to Pharaoh, to all his servants, and to his whole land—
and who displayed all that mighty power and all those great and terrifying deeds that Moses did in the sight of all Israel.
