A psalm. A song for the Sabbath day.
It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praise to your name, O Most High,
to declare your steadfast love in the morning and your faithfulness through the nights,
on the ten-stringed lute and on the harp, to the melody of the lyre.
For you have made me glad by your work, O LORD; at the deeds of your hands I sing for joy.
How great are your works, O LORD! How very deep are your thoughts!
The senseless one does not know, the fool does not understand this:
though the wicked spring up like grass and all evildoers blossom, they are doomed to destruction forever.
But you, O LORD, are on high forever.
For look at your enemies, O LORD, look: your enemies will perish; all evildoers will be scattered.
But you have lifted up my horn like that of a wild ox; I am anointed with fresh oil.
My eyes have looked in triumph on my foes; my ears have heard the doom of the evildoers who rise against me.
The righteous will flourish like the palm tree; they will grow tall like a cedar in Lebanon.
Planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God.
They will still bear fruit in old age; they will stay fresh and green,
proclaiming that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no injustice in him.
