Of David. Do not burn with anger over evildoers; do not envy those who do wrong.
For like grass they will soon wither, and fade like the green of new growth.
Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and make faithfulness your pasture.
Take your delight in the LORD, and he will give you what your heart asks.
Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act.
He will bring out your righteousness like the light, and your justice like the noonday sun.
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him. Do not burn with anger over the one whose way prospers, over the man who carries out his schemes.
Let go of anger and abandon wrath; do not burn with anger—it leads only to evil.
For evildoers will be cut off, but those who wait for the LORD will inherit the land.
A little while, and the wicked will be no more; you will look for his place, and he will not be there.
But the humble will inherit the land and delight in abundant peace.
The wicked plots against the righteous and grinds his teeth at him.
The Lord laughs at him, for he sees that his day is coming.
The wicked have drawn the sword and bent the bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slaughter those whose way is upright.
Their sword will pierce their own heart, and their bows will be broken.
Better the little of the righteous than the abundance of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked will be broken, but the LORD upholds the righteous.
The LORD knows the days of the blameless, and their inheritance will last forever.
They will not be put to shame in evil times; in days of famine they will have plenty.
But the wicked will perish; the enemies of the LORD are like the beauty of the fields—they vanish, they vanish away like smoke.
The wicked borrows and does not repay, but the righteous is generous and gives.
For those blessed by him will inherit the land, but those he curses will be cut off.
The LORD makes firm the steps of the one whose way delights him.
Though he stumbles, he will not fall headlong, for the LORD holds his hand.
I was young, and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread.
All day long he is gracious and lends, and his children become a blessing.
Turn from evil and do good, and dwell in the land forever.
For the LORD loves justice and will not forsake his faithful ones. They are kept safe forever, but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off.
The righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever.
The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice.
The law of his God is in his heart; his steps do not slip.
The wicked lies in wait for the righteous, seeking to put him to death.
But the LORD will not abandon him to his power or let him be condemned when he is judged.
Wait for the LORD and keep his way, and he will raise you up to inherit the land; you will look on when the wicked are cut off.
I have seen a ruthless wicked man towering like a green tree in its native soil.
Then he passed away, and he was gone; I looked for him, but he could not be found.
Mark the blameless, look at the upright: there is a future for the man of peace.
But rebels will all be destroyed together; the future of the wicked will be cut off.
The salvation of the righteous comes from the LORD; he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
The LORD helps them and rescues them; he rescues them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.
