LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you, I will praise your name, for you have done wonders—plans formed long ago, carried out in perfect faithfulness.
For you have turned the city into a heap of rubble, the fortified town into a ruin; the stronghold of foreigners is a city no longer, never to be rebuilt.
Therefore a strong people will honor you; the city of ruthless nations will fear you.
For you have been a refuge to the poor, a refuge to the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm, a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm beating on a wall,
like heat in a parched land. You silence the uproar of foreigners; as the shadow of a cloud subdues the heat, so the song of the ruthless is stilled.
On this mountain the LORD of hosts will prepare for all peoples a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wine—the finest of foods, the purest of wines.
On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that veils all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations.
He will swallow up death forever. The Lord GOD will wipe away the tears from every face and remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth, for the LORD has spoken.
On that day it will be said: "Look, this is our God; we waited for him, and he has saved us. This is the LORD; we waited for him. Let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation."
For the hand of the LORD will rest on this mountain, but Moab will be trampled underfoot as straw is trampled down in a pit of dung.
Moab will spread out his hands in the midst of it, as a swimmer spreads his hands to swim, but the LORD will bring down his pride along with the cunning of his hands.
Your high, fortified walls he will bring down, lay low, and cast to the ground, into the dust.
