A prayer of David. Turn your ear, LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.
Guard my life, for I am devoted to you; save your servant who trusts in you—you are my God.
Be gracious to me, Lord, for I call to you all day long.
Bring joy to your servant's soul, for to you, Lord, I lift up my soul.
You, Lord, are good and forgiving, rich in mercy to all who call on you.
Hear my prayer, LORD; listen to the voice of my pleading.
In the day of my distress I call on you, for you will answer me.
Among the gods there is none like you, Lord, and no deeds compare with yours.
All the nations you have made will come and bow before you, Lord, and give glory to your name.
For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God.
Teach me your way, LORD, that I may walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.
I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart, and glorify your name forever.
For great is your steadfast love toward me; you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.
O God, the arrogant have risen against me; a band of ruthless men seeks my life, and they give no thought to you.
But you, Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.
Turn to me and have mercy on me; grant your strength to your servant and save the son of your handmaid.
Give me a sign of your goodness, so that those who hate me may see it and be put to shame, for you, LORD, have helped me and comforted me.
