Vindicate me, O God, and plead my case against a faithless nation; rescue me from the deceitful and unjust.

For you are God, my stronghold—why have you rejected me? Why must I go about in mourning, oppressed by the enemy?

Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me. Let them bring me to your holy mountain, to your dwelling place.

Then I will come to the altar of God, to God, my joy and my delight, and I will praise you with the harp, O God, my God.

Why are you cast down, my soul? Why so restless within me? Hope in God, for I will praise him again—the salvation of my face and my God.
