For the choirmaster. Of David. In the LORD I have taken refuge. How can you say to me, "Flee to your mountain like a bird"?
For look, the wicked bend the bow; they fit their arrow to the string to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart.
When the foundations are torn down, what can the righteous do?
The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD's throne is in heaven. His eyes observe, his gaze examines the children of men.
The LORD tests the righteous, but the wicked and the one who loves violence—his soul hates them.
On the wicked he will rain down snares, fire and sulfur and a scorching wind—the portion of their cup.
For the LORD is righteous; he loves righteous deeds. The upright will see his face.
