He said to his disciples, "It is inevitable that occasions for sin will come, but woe to the one through whom they come.
It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around his neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble.
Watch yourselves. If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.
Even if he sins against you seven times a day and seven times comes back to you saying, 'I repent,' you are to forgive him."
The apostles said to the Lord, "Give us more faith."
The Lord said, "If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.
Which of you, if he had a servant plowing or tending sheep, would say to him when he came in from the field, 'Come at once and sit down to eat'?
Wouldn't he rather say, 'Get my supper ready, then dress for service and wait on me while I eat and drink; afterward you can eat and drink'?
Does he thank the servant for doing what he was told?
So it is with you. When you have done everything you were told to do, say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.'"
On his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee.
As he was entering a village, ten men with leprosy met him. They stood at a distance
and called out, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!"
When he saw them, he said, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were made clean.
One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back, praising God at the top of his voice.
He threw himself facedown at Jesus' feet and thanked him — and he was a Samaritan.
Jesus said, "Were not all ten made clean? Where are the other nine?
Was no one found to return and give glory to God except this foreigner?"
Then he said to him, "Get up and go on your way. Your faith has saved you."
When the Pharisees asked him when the kingdom of God would come, he answered, "The kingdom of God does not come with things that can be observed,
nor will people say, 'Look, here it is,' or 'There it is.' For in fact the kingdom of God is among you." [Footnote: Or "within you."]
Then he said to the disciples, "The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.
People will tell you, 'Look, there he is!' or 'Look, here he is!' Do not go off after them; do not chase after them.
For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day.
But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man.
People were eating and drinking, marrying and being given in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.
It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building.
But on the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
It will be just like that on the day the Son of Man is revealed.
On that day, no one who is on the roof, with his belongings in the house, should go down to get them; and no one in the field should turn back.
Remember Lot's wife.
Whoever tries to hold on to his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will preserve it.
I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left.
Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left.
Two men will be in a field; one will be taken and the other left." [Footnote: A number of early manuscripts do not include this verse.]
"Where, Lord?" they asked him. He answered, "Where the body is, there the vultures will gather."
