Sing for joy in the LORD, you righteous; praise is fitting for the upright.
Give thanks to the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
Sing him a new song; play skillfully, with a shout of joy.
For the word of the LORD is right, and all his work is done in faithfulness.
He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the LORD.
By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and all their host by the breath of his mouth.
He gathers the waters of the sea as in a heap; he puts the deeps into storehouses.
Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all who live in the world stand in awe of him.
For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and there it stood.
The LORD overturns the plans of the nations; he thwarts the schemes of the peoples.
The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the thoughts of his heart through all generations.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose as his own inheritance.
From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all the sons of Adam.
From his throne where he sits enthroned he gazes on all who dwell on the earth—
he who forms the hearts of them all, who understands everything they do.
No king is saved by the greatness of his army; no warrior is delivered by his great strength.
The horse is a false hope for deliverance; for all its great strength it cannot save.
But the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love,
to rescue their souls from death and keep them alive in famine.
Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.
In him our heart rejoices, for we trust in his holy name.
Let your steadfast love rest on us, LORD, even as we put our hope in you.
