For the choirmaster. With stringed instruments. A psalm of David.

Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness. You gave me room when I was hemmed in; have mercy on me and hear my prayer.

How long, you sons of men, will you turn my honor into shame? How long will you love what is empty and chase after lies? Selah.

Know that the LORD has set apart the faithful one as his own; the LORD hears when I call to him.

Tremble, and do not sin. Search your hearts as you lie in bed, and be silent. Selah.

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.

Many are saying, "Who will show us anything good?" Lift up the light of your face upon us, O LORD.

You have put joy in my heart, more than they have when their grain and new wine abound.

In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
