Of David. A maskil.* Blessed is the one whose transgression is lifted away, whose sin is covered.
Blessed is the man whose guilt the LORD does not count against him, in whose spirit there is no deceit.
While I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my roaring all the day long.
For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my vigor was turned to the dryness of summer. Selah
Then I made my sin known to you and did not cover up my guilt. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD" — and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah
So let all the faithful pray to you at a time when you may be found; surely when the mighty waters overflow, they will not reach him.
You are my hiding place; you guard me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah
I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.
Do not be like a horse or a mule, without understanding, whose only trappings are bit and bridle to curb it, else it will not come near you.
Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but the one who trusts in the LORD is surrounded by his steadfast love.
Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous; shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart.
