For the choirmaster. To the tune of "Lilies." Of the sons of Korah. A maskil. A song of love.
My heart stirs with a noble theme; I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is the pen of a skilled scribe.
You are the fairest of men; grace is poured upon your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever.
Strap your sword to your side, O mighty one, in your glory and your majesty.
In your majesty ride out in triumph for the cause of truth and humility and righteousness; let your right hand reveal awesome deeds.
Your arrows are sharp; nations fall beneath you; they pierce the hearts of the king's enemies.
Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever; the scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of justice.
You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your companions.
Myrrh and aloes and cassia scent all your robes; from palaces of ivory the strings make you glad.
Daughters of kings are among your honored women; at your right hand stands the queen in gold of Ophir.
Listen, O daughter, look and incline your ear; forget your people and your father's house.
Then the king will desire your beauty; he is your lord—bow down before him.
The daughter of Tyre will come with a gift; the richest among the people will seek your favor.
All glorious is the king's daughter within her chamber; her gown is woven with gold.
In embroidered robes she is led to the king; her virgin companions follow her, brought in to you.
They are led along with joy and rejoicing; they enter the palace of the king.
In place of your fathers your sons will stand; you will make them princes throughout all the earth.
I will make your name remembered through all generations; therefore the peoples will praise you forever and ever.
